In modern Chinese, there are many ways to express degree, degree adverbs are one of those ways. In Chinese, degree adverbs always attract the attention of experts in TCSOL (teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages) with their extension and frequency in usage. This thesis analyzes the degree adverbs in five chapters as follows.Chapter 1 introduces the research background, theoretical basis, the extent of research and the research methods.Chapter 2 recalls and comments the research on degree adverbs and its acquisition.In chapter 3, this thesis analyzes the sequence of degree adverb acquisition. This chapter, based on The outline of HSK level standards and grammatical level and The modern Chinese, surveys the sequence of degree adverb acquisition in current textbooks and analyzes the results.Chapter 4 discusses the teaching sequence of degree adverbs. This essay compares the teaching sequence and acquisition, and then analyzes the errors of using degree adverbs.Chapter 5 indicates some inspirations of degree adverbs on teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages, including the edition of textbooks and teaching.The conclusion summarizes the creativity of this essay as well as the deficiencies and expectation in this field.
