This article focuses on the teaching model and its expansion in the five seventh chords which are frequently used in solfeggio-teaching. It mainly describes five kinds of seventh chords: major-minor seventh chord, minor-minor seventh chord, diminished-diminished seventh chord, diminished-minor seventh chord and major-major seventh chord. After clarifying the definitions and classification of these seventh chords, this article further explains their training mode in solfeggio-teaching, and eventually expands to the focus of teaching and the practices in auditory analysis.This article contains of four chapters:Chapter 1 establishes the theoretical foundation, and elaborates the definitions and classification of five frequently used seventh chords. It highlights the importance of these chords in teaching practice, and shows the cognitive differences between students from different majors.Chapter 2 specifically discusses the training modes of the five frequently used seventh chords in sight-singing teaching, and divides it into elementary and intermediate stage. In elementary stage, the training includes singing according to the bass note, singing according to the tonality-solution and singing a music piece. In intermediate stage, the training involves playing and singing the polyphony canon and music piece with ambiguous tonality.Chapter 3 mainly discusses the training modes of the five frequently used seventh chords in ear-training teaching, and also divides it into elementary stage and intermediate stage. In elementary stage, the training includes listening the seventh chords notated in one staff, and listening a harmony in open four parts.In intermediate stage, the training involves harmonic connection exercise in grand staff and texture harmonic connection.Chapter 4 expands to the focus of teaching and practices of the auditory analysis, it explores the training modes of auditory analysis from different perspectives through the training of musical perception and differentiation ability, the recognition of music style and etc.
