Solfeggio is a very important basic theory course in music class, which enjoys equal status at home and abroad. As Europe is the birthplace of solfeggio, the teaching modes and methods are more mature. At the beginning of the twentieth century, solfeggio was gradually introduced into our country. So far,the teaching has been improved and developed, but there is still room to match the western solfeggio teaching. This paper focuses on the various themes of solfeggio teaching: the teaching mode and method, the objectives, the materials selection, the assessment system, the teaching principles and the methods of comparative study, all of which are based on the author's experience at the Jilin Art Institute and the Brescia Conservatory of Music in Italy,as well as the information collected from colleges and universities at home and abroad.Through the comparison of the teaching of the two countries, the author sums up the experiences and differences in the teaching of solfeggio, compares their advantages and teaching characteristics, analyzes the relevant problems and puts forward some opinions. From the study, the author points out that our solfeggio teaching should absorb the advanced experiences and methods of Italy and create a new Chinese style of teaching solfeggio that would bridge the gap.
