Analysis Of Anzoleta’s Figure Character From ’La Regata Veneziata’

Rossini · Gioachino （Antonio）: Italian composer. No composer in the first half of the 19^th century enjoyed the measure of prestige, wealth, popular acclaim or artistic influence that belonged to Rossini. His contemporaries recognized him as the greatest Italian composer of his time. His achievements casts into oblivion the operatic world of Cimarosa and Paisiello, creating new standards against which other composers were to be judged. He created more than 40 operas, for example:Ⅱ barbiere di Siviglia, Cinderella. He also composed cantata, chamber music, piano music, instrumental m centre of music and art songs. That both Bellini and Donizetti carved out personal styles is undeniable; but they worked under Rossini’s shadow, and their artistic personalities emerged inconfronation with his operas. Not until the advent of Verdi was Rossini replaced at the centre of Italian operatic life.This paper selects Rossini’s miscellaneous vocal " La regata veneziana" including three art songs, majoring on the artistic features music style, personality characteristics and singing style.The article has three parts, the first part introduces Rossini and his status in the history of music-The second part introduces Rossini vocal divertimento’s cultural background of "La regatta veneziana", and the dialect of Venice. The third part introduces the personality characteristics of " Anzoleta", comparing psychological changes among "before the regatta" "during the regatta" "after the regatta". Also through the American Mezzo Soprano Joyce Didonato, analysis her singing treatment on holding " La regata veneziana" vocal style. At last I will share my own experiences about how to sing this vocal piece.
