A Study On The Adjectives Reduplication In Changzhi Dialect

Reduplication is an important kind of Chinese grammatical mean,which has a widespread distribution and a strong application,it is not only often seen in modern Chinese common language, but rich and colorful in its regional variations dialects.Recently, study on all kinds of parts of speech in modern Chinese has achieved fairly fruitful results,specially,researches about adjectives reduplication have appeared in all kinds of journals, papers and books.This paper is based on the language-studied environment to start a descriptive and analytic study on my native dialect—Changzhi dialect’s adjectives reduplication.With the forms of reduplication, monosyllabic adjectives of Changzhi dialect almost ramble mandarin,but double syllable adjectives’ forms are various,except for the common type of ABB,AXX,AABB,ABAB in mandarin,it also includes unique XAA、AYBB、AYXX and variant XAXB、XAYZ、XAYB and likehood.For the close degree between AA and BB, AABB type can be divided into different small classes.ABB type can be divided into based type and unbased type two kinds,unbased ABB type can find their BA words with same semantics in mandarin. Due to the different relationship between A and X,AXX type can be divided into additive type,incremental type and syllable type three kinds. On superimposed semantic aspect, the grammatical meanings of all kinds of reduplication in Changzhi dialect are escaped same with the same class of mandarin,but in a particular grammatical meaning category, the lower specie and the unique significance of several variants, Changzhi dialect shows difference.Single attribute and semantic abstraction this two necessary and sufficient conditions proof directly that only certain reduplication own extent meaning.All kinds of reduplication in Chanzhi dialect show a state meaning,for the difference of reduplication structure and the nature of the based type,various kinds of superimposed adjectives may show a difference between single state and double state,specific state and general state.From the aspect of assessment, Changzhi dialect often use characters with entering tone to express a kind of colour meaning,multi-purpose dislike and disdain. In syntactic function, same as the mandarin,all reduplication in Changzhi dialect can undertake other ingredients except subject and predicate.Collocationly, because that reduplication type or sentence patterns is different, and the co-occurrence situation with structural particle “lei” is also different.Reduplication in Changzhi dialect can only undertake manner adverbial,scene adverbial and accompanying adverbial.Various kinds of reduplication has a stronger ability on complement,followed by the strongest attributive function,and mostly complement or explain the results and status of behavior and nature in predicate,sometimes only one of them,sometimes both, but lean to one side.Adjectives reduplication in Changzhi dialect show a big difference from mandarin in reduplication category,low-grade grammatical meaning and syntactic function.After a detailed comparative analysis on both sides,we can sum up the profiles about the reduplication and grammar rules of Changzhi dialect adjectives,which will provide reference for some problems still need to be researched and solved further.
