Project Report On The Translation Of The Clinical Evaluation Of Spinal Internal Fixation System

In recent years, exchanges and cooperation between China and foreign countries in medical field have become increasingly frequent against the backdrop of the rapid development of medical science and technology. In order to facilitate the exchange, there are lots of medical materials needed to be translated. But qualified medical English translators are in great demand in China. To meet the needs of the market, professional translators need to know about medical knowledge and be skillful in translation methods and techniques. This is of great significance for translation learners.The author is commissioned by Grand Strong Limited to translate "Clinical Evaluation of Spinal Internal Fixation System" into English version and this report is based on it. This report introduces the operation of this translation project, with "translation process" and "case studies" as its focuses. In pre-analysis, the author analyzes the style of source text, target reader, translation style and translation methods. Three kinds of typical cases are introduced in case studies:the sentences with no subject; long sentences; texts concerning statistical data. Corresponding solutions are suggested in this report. At last, the author summarizes the experience she learned from this project. It is hoped that this report can offer a new perspective to seek some strategies for similar clinical report translation.
