The Multi-Angle Research On The Modal Adverb "Haozai(好在)"

According to the Three Plane Theory" and the "Lexicalization—Grammaticalization Theory" as the guidance, this paper takes the modal adverb "Haozai(好在)"as the research object, by using the method of combining qualitative analysis and quantitative statistics, static description and dynamic interpretation. This article will make a comprehensive investigation on the modal adverb "Haozai(好在)"from the perspective of synchronic and diachronic.There are six charters in this thesis.The first chapter is the introduction, which mainly introduces the research object of this paper, the research significance, research status, theoretical methods and corpus sources.The second chapter is the analysis of the modal adverb "Haozai(好在)"from the view of syntactic. First of all, we investigate the syntactic position of the modal adverb "Haozai(好在)".Secondly, we inspect the distribution of sentence category of "Haozai(好在)".The modal adverb "Haozai(好在)"often appears in the declarative sentences, less used exclamatory sentences and interrogative sentences, but can’t appear in the imperative sentence. Furthermore, we study the co-occurrence of the modal adverb "Haozai(好在)". The modal adverb "Haozai(好在)" can be combined with modal verbs, modal adverbs, related words.Finally, we analyze the syntactic function of the modal adverb "Haozai(好在)".The modal adverb "Haozai(好在)" not only can act as a parts of the sentence, but also can connect different levels of language components to composed of higher-level language units.The third chapter is the analysis of the modal adverb "Haozai(好在)’’from the perspective of semantics. First of all, we analyze the semantic background which "Haozai(好在)"appears, then summarize the basic semantics. Secondly, we inductive the semantic model of the modal adverb "Haozai(好在)". Finally, we investigate the semantic relationships between "Haozai(好在)"connected items, including reason, result, turning, concession, coherent, commentary, etc.The fourth chapter analyze the modal adverb "Haozai(好在)" from the pragmatic level. The pragmatic functions of the modal adverb "Haozai(好在)’’ mainly include the following aspects:subjective commentary, specify the default, accentual function and cohesive function.The fifth chapter inspect the modal adverb "Haozai(好在)"from the diachronic level, including the path of Lexicalization—Grammaticalization and the motivation and mechanism of Lexicalization—Grammaticalization.The sixth chapter is epilogue that we summarize the whole thesis and point out the deficiencies and need improvements.
