There is no doubt that the popularity of the Internet brings positive effect to human beings. Internet deeply attracts students who are pursuing novelties, because of its instantaneity, cross-region and individuation. Recently, CNNIC has released a report about "the Thirty-fifth Network Development of China", the report shows that the number of the whole Internet users in our country has reached 6.49 billion, the rate of the network popularity was 47.9%, and the highest proportion of the users are high-school students. Internet is just like a double-edged sword, with it we may have less trouble dealing with problems in life, get more information, and enjoy a better-off life. However, it also brings negative influence on both genders inevitably. Some teenagers may have troubles in learning or everyday life, and they will feel awful, disappointed and helpless if these problems are not solved in time. Therefore, part of them may attracted by the Virtual Society - Internet. One thing should be kept in mind that we must realize the importance of Internet addiction, especially the bad effects of this phenomenon.The study employs EPQ-RRC, SELSA-S, Internet Using Motivation Questionnaire and APIUS as the research instruments, and it investigates 347 vocational high school students in Hubei Province. This paper describes the main characteristics of the vocational high school students nowadays; finds out the predictive factors of the disturbance of behavior, and discusses the internal-mechanism among personality traits, loneliness, Internet using motivation and Internet addiction. Based on the above, we can build the mediating model by using these four variables finally.The main conclusions are as follows:(1) The investigation revealed that 12.68% of the subjects are Internet addiction group, and 8.07% of the subjects are marginal Internet addiction group.(2) The Internet addiction tendencies of vocational high school students have significant statistical correlation with gender. The tendencies of boys are significant higher than the tendencies of girls, so do the Internet age and time online per week. However, the study shows no difference in Internet addiction between rural students and urban students, neither does the grade difference.(3) The score of Internet addiction is associated with the personality traits of the neuroticism and psychoticism positively, but is not clearly related to personality trait of the extraversion. The scores of social loneliness and familial loneliness have positive correlation with the score of Internet addiction. The emotional experience dimension of the Internet using motivation is highly associated with Internet addiction and each dimension. The self presentation dimension and human communication dimension are also clearly related to Internet addiction.(4) Loneliness and Internet using motivation (extraversion, neuroticism and psychoticism) are the intervening variables of personality and Internet addiction.
