Xia Hua Yuan Village is located in the west of Jishui county,Jiangxi Provinve,which is the administrative divisions of Fengjiang Town,Jishui county.The language of Xia Hua Yuan Village belongs to the Jilian(吉莲)slices of Gan(赣)dialect words.Targeting 50 Villagers who moved in Jishui County as the subjects of the investigation, the study uses sociolinguistics and dialectology to see the language choice and ability of the villagers and the changes of how they use the language today and before. By the analysis of the surface variation and the deep changes in the use of the language, the study finds out that villagers can speak much better mandarin after they came to town, and on the contrary, their mother language is degenerated.By the investigation and analysis of the language choice and ability of the villagers and the changes of how they use the language today and before, Part I finds out that their mother language still dominates in different parts of the daily life context, but mandarin is mostly used in the formal occasions; the young generation shows the trend of completely using of mandarin; the villages still use their mother language to communicate in daily life but teach their children only in mandarin; as it comes to the language ability, they can speak much better mandarin but mother language is degenerated.By investigating the differences and changes of their pronunciation and analyzing relative social factors, Part II finds out that the old pronunciation is reserved well in the older ages; women can accept and use new pronunciation better than men;the more they contact with and use mandarin, the more they intend to use new pronunciation; the higher education they get, also the newer pronunciation they choose; and the experience of working outside the city also exert great influence on the choice of the pronunciation changes.
