A Study On The Current Situation In Senior High School Student Body Image, Attention Bias And Intervention Measures

The concept of body image is defined as: under the influence of social ideas, in the process of self development, individual formed perception of their own body and to evaluate their own body, so as to produce a certain attitude to their body. Because of the aesthetics and body cognitive deviation negative body image individual will lead to psychological troubles, negative emotions, and even many of psychological and behavioral problems such as low self-esteem, sense of inefficiency, anxiety, depression, eating disorders.This study is divided into three parts. The first part selects 735 high school students in jiangxi province as investigation objects, and adopts PSDQ questionnaire to survey the body image characteristics of high school students. The second part screens 30 positive body image and 30 negative body image to attend dot probe experiment to explore negative body image individual’s space characteristics on attention bias.In the third part, the negative group subjects were randomly divided into experimental group and the control group,then body image intervention program was implemented to explore the effective intervention measures. The results of the study are as follows:(1)On the whole,senior high school students’ body image satisfaction is in the medium level, and degree of satisfaction is not high.The score of participants in each dimension from high to low is: body fat, body healthy, physical self-esteem, physical appearance, the whole body, body flexibility, physical coordination, sports ability, physical strength, physical endurance and physical activity.(2)A significant difference between high school boys and girls was found in body image. In the overall body image and each dimension,Girls displays the body image satisfaction were significantly lower than boys.(3)Age difference on body image only exists in sports ability dimension. There is no significant age difference in the overall body image and other dimensions.(4)In the dot probe experiment, compared to a positive body image and neutral information, a negative body image has attention bias on the body and food related words.(5)The intervention measures in this study are useful. The body image of the experimental group subjects is improved in physical self-esteem, physical appearance, the whole body, body flexibility, physical coordination.
