Research Of Village Temple’ Function In Political Sociology

Along with the new rural construction of socialism, the problem of rural temple and the folk beliefs have become increasingly prominent. The research of the problem also gradually heat up. And it takes the extensive concern of the government and academic circles. But the existing research mainly focused on the folk belief itself, the attention of the village temple which is an important carrier is still inadequate. Therefore, this article embarks from the structural functionalism perspective on the investigation to the village temple on the function of political sociology so that it can deepen the Understanding rural temple and activities of folk beliefs.In the first part of the paper the village temple and folk beliefs are introduced, and the M temple as an example from the historical change of village temple and ritual activities on simple outline are introduced. Then through the activities, land, mountain temple fair, blessing ceremony, as well as on the description of the temple ceremony lay the foundation for subsequent research. In the second part, the paper use structural functionalism theory and the AGIL function model and the positive and negative function. Respectively from the Adaptation functions, Latent pattern maintenance function, Integration function, as well as a Goal attainment function, the four aspects of the village temple are analyzed. The efficiency which has not yet found from village temple is that the negative function failed to effectively restrain the problem. Therefore, in the third part the paper explore internal and external environment of the village temple, for example, the external political, economic, social and cultural factors, and the organization of the factor of material, spirit and system analyses the reasons of rural temple dysfunction. Finally, the article is based on the analysis of the causes of problems existed in rural temple, in ideology, legal policy, management system and the several aspects such as personnel training aims to improve rural governance temple’s advice.Based on the rural temple as the breakthrough point and the social structure as the main point, the article gives full play to the advantages of field investigation in the case study. From the structural functionalism perspective on the function, the village temple has carried on the comprehensive system in political sociology study. We must continue deepen the understanding of function of village temple, opened a new way of thinking for the governance of rural temple.
