With the sustained and rapid development of economy in our country, the Chinese international education undertaking thrives. According to "Study in China Program" issued by the Ministry of Education in 2010, it is predicted that by 2020, China will become the largest oversea study destination in Asia. Hainan is pushing forward the construction of the international tourism island in a thorough way, with its unique and advantaged natural ecology and climatic environment, it is in sore need of the expansion of opening up to the outside, of the enhancement of the internationalized elements and the all round improvement of the internationalization level. It plays an important supporting role in developing Hainan area economy and strengthening the educational and cultural exchange internationally, and a positive role in advancing the construction of the international tourism island to promote Chinese international education in Hainan, the other way round the unique regional culture and policy support from the building of the international tourism island benefits enormously the development of the Chinese international education.Hainan has started Chinese international education since 1988, however it grew slowly over time, and it’s in urgent need to speed up the development pace. Where are the roots of the problems that limit the development from? It needs to dig up the overall case of Chinese international education in Hainan to find out the answer and comes up with targeted policy suggestion on quickening the development of that in Hainan combining successful experiences and excellent practices at home and abroad.This thesis describes basic situation of Chinese international education in Hainan in an overall and systematic way by survey studying the status and effect elements of that including the situation of that carried out by Hainan colleges and universities and all kinds of educational institutions, the attention and support of that from governments at all level, and by comparing practices of Yunnan and Guangxi provinces in doing theirs, it sums up the advantages and disadvantages of Hainan developing Chinese international education, discusses the strategy of further developing it in Hainan and puts forward policies and measures for future advancing it.This thesis consists of 6 chapters.Chapter 1, being the introduction, elaborates the origin, purpose and significance, previous findings, focus, object and methods of the study.Chapter 2 elaborates the history and overall situation of Chinese international education development in Hainan with the digging up of that in Hainan colleges and universities being the focus which includes recruitment publicity, education and teaching, academic research and construction of Confucius colleges.Chapter 3 analyzes existing problems in Hainan Chinese international education undertaking.Chapter 4 reflects on causes of Chinese international education undertaking being fallen behind in Hainan through comparing the situation of that in Yunnan and Guangxi, some arrangements in oversea Chinese teaching, and main reasons for getting faster development in the Chinese international education undertaking.Chapter 5 brings up policy suggestion on Chinese international education undertaking in Hainan.Chapter 6, being the conclusion, summarizes this thesis.
