Objective:To explore the current situation of delinquent juvenile and the relationship between the family environment, family upbringing style, personality, mental health and juvenile delinquency. To find out the risk factors of juvenile delinquency, so as to provide the theoretical basis of preventing juvenile delinquency.Methods:290 delinquent(case group) and 188 normal adolescent(control group) were tested by general condition questionnaire, Family Environment Scale-CV, Family Upbringing Style Questionnaire, NEO Five-Factor Inventory-Revision, Psychological Symptom Inventory-100 and Barratt Impulsiveness Scale 11 th Version. Statistical methods include independent sample t test, variance analysis, regression analysis and path analysis.Result:(1)There are significant difference between delinquent and adolescent on the general condition of education, race, grading, family type, housing condition, and parental educational attitude(p<0.001). The differences in the gender, age, education, rank, grading, previous mental status, parental education attitude and housing condition among different classification of crimes are significant(p<0.05). Education and housing conditions have predictive effect on juvenile delinquency(p<0.05).(2) There are significant difference between delinquent and adolescent on the family environment of cohesion, expressiveness, conflict, independence, intellectual-cultural orientation, active-recreational orientation, moral-religious orientation and control(p<0.05).The differences in the expressiveness and active-recreational orientation among different classification of crimes are significant(p<0.05). Cohesion, intellectual-cultural orientation, moral-religious orientation and control have predictive effect on juvenile delinquency(p<0.05).(3) There is significant difference between delinquent and adolescent on family upbringing styles(p<0.001). The scores of ten dimension of delinquent are significant higher. The differences in the parental democraticauthoritarian, father respect-exinanition, parental catholicity-permissive, father warmthwildness and father supervision-control among different classification of crimes are significant(p<0.05). Mother catholicity-permissive predictive has effect on juvenile delinquency(p<0.05).(4)The scores of agreeableness and openness with delinquent are significantly lower than normal group, and the score of impulsiveness is significantly higher(p<0.001). The differences in the openness among different classification of crimes are significant(p<0.05). Openness and impulsiveness have predictive effect on juvenile delinquency(p<0.05).(5)There are significant difference between delinquent and adolescent on mental health(p<0.001). The differences in the depression among different classification of crimes are significant(p<0.05). Personality, attention and dietsleeping have predictive effect on juvenile delinquency(p<0.05).(6)In the model of research relationships among family environment, family upbringing styles, personality, mental health and juvenile delinquency, family style impact to juvenile delinquency(p<0.05); family upbringing style and personality impact to juvenile delinquency through mental health(p<0.05); family environment and family upbringing style impact to juvenile delinquency through mental health after personality(p<0.05).Conclusion: There are significant difference between delinquent and adolescent on the family environment, family upbringing style, personality and mental health.Family environment, family upbringing style, personality and mental health are predictors of juvenile delinquency. The related departments should consider all factors, so as to preventing and reducing juvenile illegal activities.
