The thesis, targeted at rural undergraduates, adopts a questionnaire survey to explore the relationship between family environment and psychological health status of college students from rural areas, and takes non-rural undergraduates as the control group. The family environment consists of hard environment, including parents' educational levels and occupations, household income and type;as well as soft environment employing ten characteristic factors of familial environment scale-Chinese version(FES-CV).Mental health adopts nine characteristic factors of SCL-90.In the first place, through descriptive statistics,T-TEST and F-TEST,the thesis analyzes the differences between the factors of rural undergraduates' FES-CV and that of SCL-90 in factors including gender, major, grade and family hard environment.Furthermore, the author conducts a correlation analysis between family environment factor and mental health factor. At last, taking all the family environment's factors of rural undergraduates as the independent variable and all the psychological health's factors as the dependent variable, the author establishes a regression model and adopts SPSS to make a conclusion of the relationship between family environment and psychological health status of college students from rural areas. The results of the study indicate that the overall situation is not too bad although certain degree mental problems do exist in rural undergraduates;in general, the family environment of rural undergraduates is worse than non-rural undergraduates'.The mental health of rural undergraduates is significantly and positively correlated with their family environment.Namely, the rural undergraduates possessing good family environment correspondingly enjoy better mental health.Thereof, the three factors of contradictoriness, independence and intellect of family soft environment pose a salient influence to the mental health of rural undergraduates. In addition, remarkable differences in gender, major and grade present in the psychological health of rural undergraduates.
