Ni Hongjin is the famous pianist,educator and performer in modern time. He was born in 1935 and entered in Shanghai national college of music in 1947. After he graduated he studied abroad in the soviet union and he is the first pianist of new China who received systemic piano education in the Moscow Conservatory. Ni Hongjin had fantastic piano technique and also did a good job in the piano teaching and composition. Especially in the composition of piano, he combined china folk style and western composition technique well. The suite Walking in the Old Summer palace reflects the thinking of Ni Hongjin on life, history and culture. So that the melody is abound in folk character and there is profound content in this masterpiece.This article focuses on the performer of Waling in the Old Summer Palace and tries its best to explain the suite from the perspective of performance, in order that providing a detailed information for other researcher. Meanwhile, to provide an useful supplement of the study on Chinese piano pieces will also be the goal.There are four parts in this article.The second part of NiHongJin walking in the old summer palace explain the background; The third part through the use of fingering and touch in piano technique, this paper expounds the use of special fingering in the suite and the suite in the process of playing different way to touch the keys of different sound effects; The fourth part through the use of the change of strength and pedal method, this paper expounds the suite strength changes with the theme of the connection between the artistic conception and the characteristics of the works on the pedal use; The fourth part combines each piece of the artistic conception and theme of each piece to express the emotion expression of each piece of music.
