Analysis Of The Survival And Development Of Cloud Gate Theater Of Taiwan (1973-2013)

In the late 19 th century and early 20 th century, with the process of Asian modernity western modern dance was introduced into China. In the 1970 s, the rise of western modern dance began in Taiwan. Lin Hwuai-min pioneered the first modern dance company in the Chinese-speaking world—Cloud Gate Theater.Today, Cloud Gate Theater, after more than 40 years of development, as Taiwan business CARDS of modern dance, went out on the world tour and attracted east-western attention to modern dance and caused it to be a big hit. "Cloud gate hot" phenomenon showed that Lin Hwuai-min integrated oriental culture with western modern dance technology and it testified that Cloud Gate Theatre, during the birth, survival, development and prosperity of modern dance Company, has distinct ideas and strategies in art practice and dance company management. At the beginning there were only 12 people in the Cloud Gate Theatre, but now it has become a team of more than one hundred people. Lin Hwuai-min is not only a flagship of modern dance in Taiwan, but also a legend in dance throughout the world.
