Research On Chinese Abbreviations Acquisition Of Thai Native Speakers

The development of the society to promote the production of language, on the contrary. In today’s social life of fast rhythm makes our economy of language demand is higher and higher, acronyms is under this trend, and a large number of emerging, and with its concise and clear, the characteristics of rhythm and lively, in people’s life plays a more and more important role.The so-called acronyms, is refers to using a combination of short syllables, in certain conditions from instead of a long syllable combination. Abbreviations is human common language phenomenon, is also a kind of new method, at the same time also is one of the focus of the teaching of second language acquisition, as a result, in the modern Chinese vocabulary occupies an important position cannot be ignored. The number of abbreviations in Chinese many, according to incomplete statistics, in the contemporary Chinese language newspapers often use abbreviations has more than six hundred. As time changes, in today’s China and Thailand TV, radio, Internet, newspapers and magazines and other media there are lots of abbreviations, but acronyms with distinct national characteristics and cultural connotation, it has brought a lot of difficulties to foreigners to learn Chinese. As a study, work and live in China want to quickly in China, the environment, understanding, learning, and proficient in Chinese abbreviations also must be in people mastering a skill. Therefore, learning abbreviations has become a necessary.Thai culture as much influenced by foreign culture, so there are a lot of abbreviations in Thai language, though with Thai and Chinese belongs to the language, but Thai and Chinese in terms of pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar or there is a big difference. Rose sharply as the "Chinese hot" and the current rapid development of Internet, more and more foreign Chinese learners like through channels such as newspapers and magazines, radio and television and the Internet to learn Chinese, but the emergence of a large number of abbreviations and use increased the difficulty of the students’ reading comprehension, also for many foreign students in the Internet chat with Chinese friends brought about confusion. To avoid people because do not understand its meaning in life and work of distress, abbreviations in recent years, Chinese academic circles for this problem is also a study, but Thai academic research very little.For this reason, this thesis is based on predecessors’ the existent research achievements, and through all kinds of books, materials, and in Beijing language and culture university and the university of international business and economics random questionnaire survey and analysis of a variety of ways. The full text was divided into four parts: the first part is introduction, mainly about the selected topic background, significance, research status of abbreviations, and research method in this paper. The second part is the comparison and analysis, mainly written definition, forms and characteristics of Chinese abbreviations, Thai, source, structure mode and characteristics of abbreviations, finally write contrast and analysis of abbreviations. The third part is the native language for Thai abbreviations in Chinese learners’ use of questionnaire survey and analysis. The fourth part is about abbreviations in teaching Chinese as a foreign language teaching Suggestions and strategies.The purpose of this paper is to study the difference between Chinese abbreviations and Thai, abbreviations, so that the similarities and differences of Chinese and Thai have a better understanding. Hope that through this paper contrast and analysis of the abbreviations, foreign students can improve the ability of language communication, and provide useful reference for teaching Chinese as a foreign language, acronyms in the direction of research to provide reference for the future.
