Cave tombs in Liaodong area was first discovered in the new stone age. The owner of this tomb may be an influential people because this tomb is in the central axis line.Cave tomb culture was developed to the peak period in the bronze age.At that time,the cave tombs,in Liaodong area,were mainly distributed at both sides of Taizi River.And Machengzi culture is the most typical among them.The category and shape of pottry is relatively simple,but it developed with strongly local style.Machengzi tomb culture is divided into the early stage,the middle stage and the late stage according the changes at the bottoms of pottery pots.There are living place and tombs in the caves along the Taizi River.Therefore, Taizi River may be the birthplace of the Cave tombs in Liaodong area.So,from the development of caves, Cave culture has a long history in Liaodong area.We can know that there were human beings living in Liaodong area early in more than 200 thousands years ago.They set the caves as their home.However,in the stone age, the caves were changed to their tombs along Taizi River.With the further study of Machengzi culture,its connotation is increased.As the mainstream culture in Liaodong area,Machengzi culture has its unique style.However,it has developed also with other culture.It has close contaction with Gaotaishan culture and Shuangtuoziâ…¢culture.It has certain relationship with Xituanshan culture.Moreover,the second period of Xinyanli culture on Korean Peninsula was also influenced by Machengzi culture.
