Nursing Undergraduates’ Time Management Disposition And The Relationship With Achievement Motivation And Anxiety, And Its Intervention

Using the questionnaire method and experimental method for 334 nursing undergraduates who from a university in Henan as subjects, studied nursing undergraduates’ time management disposition and the relationship with achievement motivation and anxiety and investigated the intervention effect of time management.The research is composed by three parts, in study I, the time management disposition scale was used to exam the characteristics of nursing undergraduates’ time management disposition. In study II, "Adolescence Time Management Disposition Scale ", "Achievement Motivation Scale" and "State-Trait Anxiety Inventory” were used to investigate the relationship of time management disposition with achievement motivation and anxiety. In study III, on the basis of study I and study II, a time management training program was designed to investigate the intervention effect of time management.Based on the three studies, the following results were obtained:(1) Nursing undergraduates’ time management disposition total scores and all factors were higher than the scale of medium level, and time monitoring concept’ number of above medium level of the proportion in the crowd was less than the tow other factors.(2) Nursing undergraduates’ time management disposition total scores and sense of time value and time self-efficacy scores were different in different grades.And freshmen and sophomores in time management disposition total scores, self-efficacy and sense of time value scores were significantly lower than junior.Time management disposition and all factors had not significant differences on whether the one-child.Time self-efficacy scale score existed significant differences on whether serving as the class cadre.The city of college students’ sense of time value scores were significantly higher than the rural students’.(3) Nursing undergraduates’ time management disposition total scores, sense of time value, time monitoring and time self-efficacy scores were significantly positive correlation with the pursuit of success motivation, and time management disposition total scores, sense of time value and time monitoring were significant positive correlation with the avoiding failure of motivation. Time self-efficacy and state anxiety were significant negative correlation. Time management disposition total scores and time monitoring and self-efficacy and trait anxiety were significantly negative correlation, the most significant correlation was time self-efficacy and trait anxiety. Motivation to pursue success and trait anxiety were significantly negative correlation, motivation to avoid failure and trait anxiety were significantly positive correlation.(4) Sense of time value can significantly predict the pursuit of success motivation, sense of time value, time monitoring concept and time self-efficacy can significantly predict the avoiding failure motivation, the avoiding failure motivation can significantly predict trait anxiety, time self-efficacy can significantly predict state anxiety and trait anxiety.(5) The avoiding failure motivation played a role of intermediary between time self-efficacy and trait anxiety.(6) Time management training can effectively improve the level of nursing undergraduates’ time management disposition.After intervention,the comparisons of intervention group’ time management disposition total scores and it’s three factors had significant differences within the groups and between groups and in the difference values.(7) Time management training can effectively reduce the anxiety level of nursing undergraduates.
