“Lady genre” is a kind of marginal creations, and has a characteristic of implicit beauty. This thesis takes Intertextuality theory as the theoretical basis to discuss two writers: Ling Shuhua and Yang Jiang. This thesis consists of three chapters, except for the introduction which includes the brief discussion of Intertextuality and“Lady genre”, the research status of and basic views on“Lady genre”.Chapter one mainly discusses the development of“finest lady” character of women writer in biography.Guyun is an autobiographical novel written by Ling Shuhua. The aesthetics characteristics of literary words and paintings in Guyun form an intertextuality relationship.Ling Shuhua’s paintings belong to literati painting which contains the scholar’s thoughts and tastes. She applied all kinds of painting skills and forms to create an atmosphere of artistic beauty, spiritual beauty and delicate beauty. Her paintings and works have a quality of great lady like herself. While, Listening to Yang JiangTalking about the Past, to some extent, can be seen as Yang Jiang’s autobiography. The author Wu Xuezhao spent nearly three years talking with Yang Jiang and recorded her life experiences from birth to ninety eight years old. So this book gives a better understanding of Yang Jiang to people. From Yang Jiang’s life experience, we can find the characteristics of the culture of Confucianism and Taoism in her life. She endures the hardship of life to keep it constant, which, to some extent, is the reflection of Confucian self-cultivation. And the sentence “I am just a zero”, which she mentioned many times, reflects Zhuang Zhou’s “Rule of inaction”. In the Summary of this chapter, the author of this thesis analyzed the different ladykind temperament between Ling Shuhua and Yang Jiang.Chapter two talks about Intertextuality in their main works and the traditional poetry. The first part in this chapter analyzes the Intertextuality relationship between Ling Shuhua’s Embroidered Pillow and the Chinese needlework culture. The Chinese needlework culture demonstrates the design-beauty and the ancient female Emotions and thoughts.“Guifan”mainly includes female morals, statements, looks and neellework. It is the standards of behavior for women.“Guiyuan”is the expressions of emotion of women in the boudoir and one of subjects of poem.Embroidered Pillow described the heroine’s gunfan in a traditional way,and it described guiyuan from two aspects:on the one hand, the girl who is bred in an inner chamber gets the spring fever, with no one knowing her.On the other hand, she has an depressed emotion that nobody knows her well-intention.The two guiyuan emotions and ancient guiyuan poem form the Intertextuality relationship. The second part describes theintertextuality relationship between Yang Jiang’s essay The Three of Us and ancient mourning poems. No matter the dreamland of The Three of Us or the ancient mourning poems are all classical dramas, because they are the result of one’s psychological and emotional performance in dreams. At the same time, the imagery in this book is the acacia thing reference that the ancient applied to express heir feelings, for example the inn,the boat, the old post road and the cold willow. The third part talks about the classical aesthetic implication. There are three subtitles in this book:cai feng cai fei(采葑采菲),ru fei huan yi(如匪浣衣)and cang lang zhi shui qing xi(沧浪之水清兮).The first two quote from The Book of Songs, and the last quotes from Mencius. There is no direct connection between heading context and novel text, but it needs to realize the classical implication of headings in order to translate the text.In addition,no matter Have a Bath or After a Bath, both of them have implicit beauty to love.Implicit refinement inherits a classical love mode.At the same time, from dealing with the conflicts of emotion and ceremony,we can see the author’s breakthrough towards tradition. Finally, the author of this thesis makes a comparison and integration of the absorption of traditional poetry and literature focus between Ling Suhua and Yang Jiang. The last chapter of this thesis talks about the different opinions in traditional culture. During Ling Shuhua’s literature creation, the attitude to traditional culture is a linear change process. At beginning, under the influence of May Fourth spirit and western modern thoughts, she criticized traditional culture negatively and thought that traditional culture poisons boudoir women. But finally, there are more appreciation to Chinese traditional culture in her work Archaic Chinese Rhymes Creation, because she was influenced by British female writer Woolf and her works were written to western readers. For Yang Jiang, she sublates the traditional culture, and then makes her work be easily approachable for people. The female images in her book are all influenced by traditional culture. What’s more, she shows the beauty of the Orient as well as laments to us about the disappearance of the traditional family.
