Since the beginning of Han Dynasty,Dunhuang region began to become a part of the country. The central plains population poured into Dunhuang region. Because is located in the northwest border area, The government can not have effective management on Dunhuang region. a large number of nonlocal families developed as Dunhuang’s aristocratic families. From Han to Wei and Jin Dynasty, Dunhuang area formed a popular group,in order to Zhangshi,Suoshi,Songshi,Linghushi,Fanshi,Yinshi as a representative. From the 4th century to the early 5th century, Hexi area was undered the jurisdiction of Five Liang.Houliang,Nanliang,Beiliang were established by Di, Xianbei, Lushuihu. These governments limited the han nationality participating in politics. Dunhuang’s aristocratic families for reuse.Qianliang and Xiliang were established by The han nationality. The two government strived for Dunhuang’s aristocratic families’ s support and assistance. aristocratic families and governments has formed the indepth cooperation. Dunhuang’s aristocratic families widely participated in Qianliang and Xiliang’s politic, played a central role.Qianliang and Xiliang government can provide political protection for aristocratic families, this is conducive for families to keep and develop advantage of the family.According to historical documents, there are 32 members and 19 members in Qianliang and Xiliang government from Zhangshi, Suoshi, Songshi, Linghushi, Fanshi,Yinshi families, about 50 people in total. In addition, there may be some other documents we have not seen now. there are more than 50 Dunhuang’s aristocratic family members in Qianliang and Xiliang government. The number show that many aristocratic families were key officials. Dunhuang’s aristocratic families occupied an important position in Qianliang and Xiliang government.Zhangshi,Suoshi,Songshi,Linghushi,Fanshi,Yinshi are popular families in WuLiang period. But because of the difference of the factors such as formation process, family power, aristocratic families presented different characteristics. From the position and main activities, it can be seen that Zhangshi,Suoshi as traditional aristocratic families mainly were staff officers, Songshi, Yinshi as new aristocratic families mainly were military commanders. From comparing Dunhuang’s aristocratic families’ s number, status, influence in Qianliang and Xiliang period,we can see that aristocratic families’ s power were obviously falled in Xiliang period. There are two main reasons.firstly, the strugglling and killing between aristocratic family members weaked the power of popular family.secondly, after a period of national politics, many popular members have been killed.Influenced by internal external factors, Dunhuang’s aristocratic families frustrated in a short period, declined from the late Qianliang.
