Chinese characters, the most typical and key element in Chinese culture system, it has import position in Chinese culture system. As members of the Chinese society of Chinese characters and basic tool for communication between groups, become an indispensable medium for spreading Chinese culture and extension. Therefore, the application and popularization of Chinese characters as the traditional literary, or related interdisciplinary by one of the academic issues should be concerned about. Chinese characters, application and popularization of ways and means are diverse, regardless of the specific methods of fundamentally cannot leave the literacy education of the social and institutional context, this is the text is the basic nature of language and culture carrier.My tutor Mr Ya-ping huang has for years been engaged in the study of generalized philology, his words and interactive relationship of civilization formation period of civilization, staging and functions of text research, research issues are highly attention. Inspired by a tutor, the writer hopes to through the tang dynasty such a developed system and improve the context of age, education degree between Chinese characters and the social relations and its mechanism, speaking, reading and writing context. Is the history of the tang dynasty as the research section, the author realized that the tang dynasty, speaking, reading and writing education system of comprehensive, development and prosperity, and unique, is enlightening and guiding significance to the present Chinese characters reading and writing education.Application and popularization of Chinese characters in the tang dynasty and the social mechanism of reading and writing, the first is to fully explore literacy education in tang dynasty, at the same time, prominent characters in the prominent position and function in the field of education, the fundamental changes from staging studies find the text of the Angle of science and civilization. Therefore, the author’s study is also under the generalized text horizon of traditional research.Research on the application and popularization of Chinese characters in the tang dynasty has both traditional philology research, and research methods with both historical textual research. In the process of research, historical citation method, the method of synchronic description, is the basic method. To the "new tang book", "old tang book", "tang will", "tang six standard" as the main source of historical data, through the introduction of the historical documents about content, show the beauty of education situation in tang dynasty, namely the historical authenticity as closely as possible, with historical facts speak. On based method, using the methods of induction, analysis, carried out in accordance with the elements of the research content classification, makes the historical data of the present is not the most, but the structure is clear, sacrifice and focus, namely, reading and writing teaching materials according to the reading and writing education institutions and read/write operation mechanism three main factors to arrange research framework, from the various elements one by one into the object of study. And, more importantly, in what is now start to forget words, Chinese characters using ability degradation of social context, awaken people to the attention of the application and popularization of Chinese characters, attaches great importance to the literacy education institutions, reading and writing teaching materials and the mechanism of education system with Chinese character and perfect the relevant content.
