Language Style Treatment Of Popular Science Text In Translation Under The Guidance Of The Theory Of Text Typology

OCEAN, The Definitive Visual Guide is a popular science work on marine disciplines. It consists of four chapters, namely Introduction, Ocean Environments, Ocean Life and Atlas of the Oceans, each of which has given us a systematic and detailed introduction to the ocean from different perspectives. This is a popular science text, which contains large amounts of words and related pictures. Simple words and expressions are used by the author in the text to introduce the nature and characteristic of the marine geology, marine climate and ocean life, which appeals to the readers. The total number of word of the book is about 0.19 million, the translator selected part of Chapter 3, which is about 0.05 million words as the translation material. The translation report includes four parts, with the first and second part as the introduction of the book and the preparation of the writer. The third part domains the translation report which analyzes the translation problems and its relevant translation methods. The fourth part focuses on the experience and some conclusions of the translator and the summary of the whole translation, which is hoped to be of some help to other translators.
