In the history of Chinese painting, Study of The Liao Dynasty has been a weak point for a long time.Although Relics and pictures belongs to Liao Dynasty has been found after the foundation of the PRC,but the number is extremely limited, which help little to the standstill state painting research work of Liao.Therefore,this paper focus on the featues of character modeling on the Liao Tomb Murals located at Xiabali,Xuanhua to do some research work.At the same time,In order to discuss the issue clearly,the paper will be divided into five sections as follows.The first part is an introduction,telling the main reason and significance of the study,following with brief introduction of the main contents of the paper.The second part gives profiles of the Liao Dynasty tomb murals in three aspects, which discusses background of the Liao tomb murals, distribution and conservation conditions. The third part presents a detail analysis of the character modeling on the Liao Dynasty tomb murals and their aesthetic feature.Part IV discusses Xiabali tomb murals’ impact to later painting. This chapter mainly tell about the promotion given by Xiabali tomb murals to the continuation of the national minorities’ painting, including the promotion to ethnic minorities continue painting technique, painting theme continuation, continuation of painting graphics. In the analysis of their impact to the creation of the Han Chinese art is mainly carry out from Han Chinese get performance practices and promote the formation of a larger application Zhongyuan Han tomb painting and drawing from their promotion of North-South history of cultural exchange situation Finally the summary of full text is given.
