Study On The Protection Of Traditional Villages In The Process Of Tourism Development

426 villages in Guizhou province have been added to the list of the protection of traditional villages, accounting for 16.67% of total number in China. With the unremitting exploration and practice, Guizhou has achieved initial results in the protection of traditional villages, especially the traditional villages conservation model driven by the tourism development has become a research hotspot. This paper first summarizes the development history and achievements of traditional village studies at home and abroad. Second, it discusses the relationship between the protection of traditional villages and tourism development, that is, tourism development is one of the important ways to protect traditional villages. Tourism development processes the externality to the protection of traditional villages, while traditional village’s conservation processes the externality to improvement of the economic benefit of tourism. This paper also points out the limitations of the tourism development against the protection of traditional villages. Third, the paper analyzes the current situation of tourism development of traditional villages in Guizhou Province in aspects of the overall features of traditional villages, models of tourism development, tourism products and so on. Furthermore, this paper points out that the main contents of protection of traditional villages include material elements, cultural elements and the production and development capacity of villagers. The material elements include the traditional buildings and ancillary buildings, natural environment, the spatial pattern and so on, while cultural elements include the farming culture, architectural culture, national culture, spiritual culture and so on. Four, this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the current situation, problems and reasons of the protection of traditional villages in Guizhou province. Finally, this paper puts forward the measures and development suggestions for the protection of traditional villages.
