Face recognition within groups tend to be a phenomenon that has been generally confirmed, the performance of individuals within the group members for face identification and recognition performance was significantly better than out-group members face. In-group and out-group study face recognition differences except for face recognition and group psychology and other fields of study has important theoretical value, the elimination of racial bias in the administration of justice to improve the accuracy and other witnesses identified the neighborhood also has important practical value.In this paper, the use of "Iearning--- Recognition" classic paradigm, from the perspective of social classification of face recognition to both nation and school classification criteria faces picture inside, outside groups divided to explore the different dimensions of social classification standards the Uyghur and Han college students face recognition within the group bias characteristics. This thesis consists of two studies: a study of the face to the nation and the school were classified as standard, to explore the social classification criteria under a single dimension, the Uyghur and Han college students face recognition within the group bias characteristics. Second, the basis of a research study on the faces in both the nation and the school as a classification criterion, explore under shared social classification standard comparison to strength within the two groups, and the ethnic differences in own-group bias.Based on the above findings we draw the following conclusions:(1) When the face picture to the nation as a classification criterion, the Uyghur and Han college students in the face recognition process have shown the own-nation bias.(2) When the face picture to the school as a classification criterion, the Uyghur and Han college students in the face recognition process have shown the own-school bias.(3) When the face picture simultaneously to the nation and the school as a classification criterion, the Uyghur and Han college students in the face recognition process have shown the own-nation bias to be better than the own-school bias.(4) Uyghur students in college students showed stronger than the Han the nation bias present.(5) Uyghur students in school bias and Han college students ethnic differences do not exist.(6) Than the Han students Uyghur students in college students showed greater differences in favor of the nation bias and the school bias.The current study mostly from differences in perceptual experience of face recognition to explain this phenomenon, this article is to explain its departure from the perspective of social classification, enrich and complement the research in this field. Xinjiang is a region inhabited by minority nationalities, ethnic exchanges, joint thrive. own-group bias face recognition research to better understand and overcome the prototype effect, increase communication and interaction between nations, for the promotion of social and ethnic harmony provides a theoretical and empirical support.
