An Analysis Of The Hybrid Language In Chinese-american Writer Maxine Hong Kingston’s Literary Works

This essay selected hybrid language materials from Maxine Hong Kingston’s five literary works, and investigated form two aspects on items selecting and ranking.The description and comparative methods were adopted. We recorded the Phonological system, Morpheme, Word, Phrase, Sentence Elements, Special Sentence and classified the main features. On the basis of a comprehensive data collection,classification, filtering, and statistics, then with the description and analysis of the materials come to the corresponding conclusions.We use the Code-Switching Theory analyzed the main function of the hybrid language in this research. According to this thesis, we found out the hybrid language has an effect on both enlarging English vocabulary and enriching the English expressions. It can also help building an Ethnic Identity of ethnic minorities and promoting the cultural communication.
