As micro-novel, micro-blog, we-chat and mi cro-video appears, the era representing "micro" culture is coming, offerin g a convenient way of work,study and the value pursuit of spiritual life for neti zen in the constant upgrade and transformation of mobile Internet. As the pr oduct of the new media technology which is close to netizens’ lives under th e leisure and fragmented conditionof mobile net, micro film emerges at the rig ht moment and is going to bloom under the new environment of the network.Micro-film,in just a few years time, has become an indispensable part of n etizen’s life.According to an authoritative survey, by the end of 2014, China’s mobile phone users is up to 557 million, while the application proportion o f network videos represented by micro-film is at the top of fifth in Mobile ph one uses’ application.From the producing of micro-film to the rapid acceptio n of aesthetic subjects, because of its continuing abundant "micro" elements, micro-film is increasingly occupying various network communication platfor ms.At the same time, behind the large growth of micro film, micro film suffer ed questioning by experts and scholars and aesthetic subjects for the reasons o f the good and bad are intermingled of the quality, network regulations are no t complete enough and so on. In view of this, the discussion of this article wil l focus on the definition, development history, aesthetic value and practical sig nificance of micro- film.At present, the number of micro-film increases rapidly, all kinds of micro-film festivals and micro-film competitions emerge in endless, academia als o pay more and more attention to micro film, but there is no accurate and unif ied cognition on its artistic standards definition, and the research of micro fil m from the perspective of aesthetic value also has a few articles.The author als o worked as the coordinator in a public micro film named“Watching under th e Gui Lan Mountain”which awarded Jin Haitang prize and one of the goo d works of micro-film in the first Asian micro-film festival.The author combined personal experience and watching a large number of micro films,refer to t he limited literature review and reference from three parts to discuss the ne w product-micro film, it summarized micro-film from its definition and the exi sting reasons, development course and the types of micro film, emphatically st udying on the aesthetic value of micro film,so as to analyze the current proble ms existing in the micro film, and puts forward the future development strateg ies.
