With methods of language analyzing,research,interview and error analysis,a Second Language Acquisition research concerning modern Chinese adversative words has been conducted. Adversative words studied in this research including the following five words:danshi,que,buguo,zhishi,jiushi. After analyzing and investigating,a simple,practical and efficient way of teaching those adversative words has been found and a teaching plan has been well designed. This paper has been divided into four main parts.Part one is the comprehensive review of all studies concerned by now.Part two is the contrastive analysis about adversative words that have been divided into 3 groups.Part three is the learners’ acquisition condition about those adversative words.Part four is the instructional design of those adversative words towards Chinese learners.
