Red Loyalty Dance

When the “Cultural Revolution” broke out, it swept through the whole nation. The Red Loyalty Dance, Little Red Book became a big hit overnight. They filled the heart of people all over the country.Being loyal to Party and Chairman Mao was the highest and most resounding slogan at that time.Loyalty Dance is one of the products of the “Cultural Revolution” period, and a way people show their great loyalty to Mao Zedong. While dancing,people always danced with a red silk ribbon or Quotations from Chairman Mao as a prop.Faced with portrait of Chairman Mao, people sometimes waved red silk ribbon and, sometimes held the Little Red Book( Quotations from Chairman Mao),singing the beloved Chairman Mao,the red sun in our hearts. It uses some songs to the accompaniment,such as “Sailing the Seas Depends on the Helmsman”, “ beloved Mao Zedong”, “on the Golden Mountain of Beijing” and quotes song and so on. It aimed to express “Four unlimited” to our most beloved great leader Chairman Mao, that is infinite love, in admiration,unlimited worship,boundless loyalty! In the ultra-leftist doctrine frenzy swept through China,it seemed that every Chinese should express their loyal to Mao Zedong and the Party in a variety of ways.Regardless of the workshop,playground,pier,street,field, dancers of all ages,day or night,can be seen everywhere, on every morning,before meals,after work etc. Therefore, this art form has become a symbol of the brief history of China.This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter,loyalty dance origins;Chapter II, loyalty dance’s formation and development; Chapter III,the world loyalty and represents the essence of dance favored, Chapter IV,loyalty dance social causes and ideologies; Chapter V, the impact on future generations of loyalty dance.From the start of loyalty dance,along the clues of loyalty dance :generation—development—climax—disappearance, try to understand,explore,analyze, and resolve the historical roots of loyalty dance,social and cultural causes and ideological function; the last part is the impact on the later development of dance in red, and the good wishes of the red dance discipline development framework established.
