Report On The Translation Of Technology Commercialization

As the universities and scientific institutes of Russia did nearly 20 years ago, universities and scientific institutes in our country have began exploring how to better realize technology commercialization recently. The nature of technology commercialization is promoting the valid combination of all factors of production through the cooperation of production, education and research. During their exploration, the universities and scientific institutes of Russia had learned a lot from America. In light of this, by reading their report of communication(hereafter referred to as the source text), we can gain a lot of experience and lessons.As the translation report of the aforementioned report of communication,this article is consist of four parts: the first part is the introduction of the source text and its language features; the second part is the introduction of the translation process; the third part is the theoretic thinking and case study of the problems in the translation; and the fourth part is the summary of the translation. Under the guidance of communicative translation theory, the author has summarized some translation methods for informative text. For example, as to the translation of proper nouns and specialized words, the author adopts such methods as translators’ notes, back translation and paraphrase; as to the translation of passive sentences, the author translate them into passive sentences, sentences without subjects or active sentences; as to the translation of long sentences, the author uses such methods as embedding, amplification, phrasing and inversion. Hence, the readability and faithfulness of the translation could be reserved. The author concludes some experience and proposes personal thinking concerning to the translation, i.e. full preparation, excellent translation and careful proofreading are crucial for the success of translation. And this article aims to provide some ways for the translation of informative text, especially the academic report of communication.
