Canada has had a profound impact of its neighbor America on the geopolitical and cultural field. Ethnic culture is different from the United States, however, Canadian society present diverse and independent Mosaic culture. English Canada movie has its own unique style. Interracial film director Atom Egoyan is English Canada’s individual characteristic "auteur", his unique image style and forward-looking with in-depth theme and post-modern society reflection accomplished work on mature artistic personality and substance depth. Although he had a lot of great achievements in the international film industry, however, the obscure image style and ideological depth also creates the "highbrow" comments on Egoyan’s works. Its from the beginning that north American scholars study on Egoyan in many aspects, the Chinese-speaking world, however, relatively knows less about Egoyan. This article tease Egoyan’s important works and after it is concluded that the "seeking for the authenticity" which is found through his creation as the motif. After look into philosophy and sociology and make the "authenticity" of the concept of set, the meaning of "authenticity" as motif is show up-that is," looking for" is a dynamic, open and experience of the unknown, and the "authenticity" is the motivation behind the "ultimate goal" and process. Then works from a concrete instance subdividing motif, the performance of this motif is divided into three categories:1. the "distortion" on science and technology of family relations; 2. distorting force compensate as "quasi true feelings"; 3."polyphonic" and noisy "truth". Through the analysis of the codes of the film more finely, review as "heterotopias" of codes and then will be directed by the film established relationship with the audience as another layer of" heterotopias ", and in the context of postmodern film criticism to the discussion of "true" as motif, to explore the possibility of the "search" path, ultimately achieve academic study and a pure mind to the director Egoyan.
