In the project, the author did simultaneous interpreting on Apple’s IPhone and Apple Watch launch which was held on September 10,2014 at the Flint Theatre, Cupertino, California. By analyzing the difficulties in the interpreting process, the report was written to try to solve the difficulties. The source speech is a live product conference of introduction and promotion on the new consumer electronics products and the audiences are people from all over the world, so the speech style is both professional and colloquial. One of the main difficulties of the project lies in the rich information and various speech style of the source language. So the problem is how to convey all the information clearly and completely, with coherent and natural target language, so as to achieve the purpose of a new product launch. Cohesion marks, are important in helping the interpreter and audiences follow multiple levels of information. So the difficulties are divided into three types:missing cohesion marks, abundant cohesion marks, inexplicit cohesion marks.According to the coherence theory of M.A.K.Halliday, there are two characteristics of a coherent discourse:visible cohesion marks and invisible coherent meanings. There are visible coherences of repetition, ellipsis, substitution, and conjunction. In simultaneous interpreting of the project, with the specific requirements in the product launch interpretation, the author thinks in order to achieve coherent, fluent, and natural interpretation, the interpreter needs to consciously create visible cohesion marks. Therefore the author brought out three methods:addition, deletion and adaption, and demonstrated them by the examples in this project. It is hoped that the project could provide some experience to the similar cases in the future.
