A Study On The Ancient Annotation Of Wen Xuan

The Ancient Annotation of Wen Xuan presents with Lishan’s annotations,so it have been covered by Li Shan’s annotations an Wu Chen’s annotations for a long time,so does the traits and styles of it.In this paper,according to the productions of the academic,we try to reveal the truth of how the Ancient Annotation of Wen Xuan presents and reestablish the position of it in the history of Wen Xuan’s annotation.In the first chaper,we inspect the features of the Ancient Annotation by ascertainning different kinds of block-printed and hand-copied editions of Wen Xuan,and we analyse the phenomenon of the mixture among the Ancient Annotation,Li Shan’s annotations and Wu Chen’s annotaitions.Only this way,can we compile the Ancient Annotations from different editions of Wen Xuan with Li Shan’annotations and Wu Chen’s annotations.The second chaper concentrates on inspecting the features of the Ancient Annotations of Wen Xuan in a whole perspective.Large numbers of voice materials have been sustained in the Ancient Annotations of Wen Xuan,which provides illustrations in discussing ‘seeking word’s meaning according to his pronouncation’ and ‘seeking the words meaning according to his phomophonic word ’.In the regard of format,the Ancient Annotations of Wen Xuan enrich the formats in annotating words.While in the regard of content,the Zhangzai and Liukui’s annotations have become the lair of the same kind by annotate the objects.Cao Dagu and Wangyi’s annotations achieve a goal that ‘like in the same situation with the author by annotating words associated with the autor’s emotions’.In the regard of annotating sentence,all kinds of the Ancient Annotation of Wen Xuan have their own styles,such as simple and elegant annotations of Cao Dagu,initiative annotations of Xuyuan,the annotations which considered both of commentting and annotating of Shenyue and Liu Xiaobiao.The third chapter which is committed to dig deeper into the value of the Ancient Annotation of Wen Xuan is on the basis of chapter one and chapter two.The value of the Ancient Annotation of Wen Xuan both including the value of itself as ancientmaterials and the value of inspecting the history of academia.For example,‘Making annotation freely’ in the long history of annotations and comments is associated with the Ancient Annotation of Wen Xuan.Cao Dagu and Caiyong’s annotations,as the earliest note to literature,benefits from the controversy over Confucian classics in versiongs in ancient and modern language,and then annotates single article with the thinking of ‘Making annotation freely’ in the age of the decline of Confucianism.Wangyi who made a good example of annotating anthology,and at the same time,as the annotator after Cao Dagu,he adopt ‘the forma of chapter ’and ‘making annotation freely’ to annotate The Songs of Chu.Xuezong’s annotations in The Three Kingdoms period,continue through out the idea of ‘making annotation freely’.Xuyuan’s annotations can be perceived as the new form of ‘making annotation freely’. As for Shenyue and Liu Xiaobiao,both of them were in the background of Stylistic variation and a social ethos of debate,reached a new level in the area of annotating by broking the previous idea and tying to associate their annotations with the style of Argumentation and Description.
