Birch has a strong relationship with the daily life of fishing and hunting nationalities in northern China, especially minorities in Heilongjiang region. The nationalities have created birch-bark culture by constantly practice in the long history of development. Yet the Russians have a special favor in white birch, no matter in material or spiritual. This article will limit the focus of the culture of birch between the two peoples in Heilongjiang valley, combined with different time background, through analysis to explore the Heilongjiang valley birch cultural similarities and differences of the two countries. The full text is divided into five chapters, concrete contents are as follows:The first chapter is the introduction part of this article, including subject value,research status at home and abroad, research methods and research objects, etc.The second chapter mainly introduces the two peoples birch complex, from the historical development and geographical analysis, summarized the causes of the two peoples birch complex and the influence of birch complex for the two peoples.The third chapter mainly discusses the details in four parts to describe birch and its products in the application of the two peoples ’ daily lives, including the birchbark production and living appliances, birch and food, architecture, and traditional handicraft.The author will choose several representative Chinese ethnic minorities in Heilongjiang valley(Oroqen, Ewenki, Daur, Hezhen, Manchu and Xibo, etc.) as an example to compare the difference in birch culture with the Russian people.The fourth chapter described the important position of birch in religious activities and festivals between China and Russia. Also the author demonstrated the spiritual civilization created by birch from Daur ethnic minority ’ s Hanminan ceremony and Russian religious activities, analyzed by comparing birch festival in Jilin Province,China and Russia.The fifth chapter described birch culture in literature, folk songs, painting between the two countries and explored the spiritual value created by the two countries through these art works.The last section is the conclusion, which summarizes the main content of this article, the innovation and deficiency of this article.This article includes photos taken by the author in field investigation..
