China classic books carry the Chinese historical culture, and its cultural values are essential in shaping the character and spirit of the nation, which is the gem of the ancient Chinese culture. And the contents of Chinese Classic Stories are directly taken from the Chinese classic books, so it is not only featured with distinct Chinese cultural characteristics, but meets the need of innovative spirit of keeping pace with the times in contemporary China, which will become a new breakthrough for translating China classic books into English and introducing the Chinese traditional culture to the rest of the world.This translation practice report is based on the translation of several chapters of the Chinese Classic Stories, mainly extracting the chapters of“Yi” and “Shame” as the studying project, which aims to publicize the ethnic moral standard of the Chinese nation and the basic ways of behaving through translation. As the Chinese Classic Stories embodies the noble moral character of loyalty and righteousness as well as bearing the awareness of shame, thus it presents a new way to promote the traditional moral values of the Chinese nation and injects fresh power for the exchange and integration of different culture all over the world.This report is basically directed under the principle of faithfulnessand equivalence, through an analysis of the ethics and wisdom of life embodied in the Chinese Classic Stories, and combined with various translation strategies and techniques, this translation practice enables the proper and suitable translation of the Chinese traditional culture is converted in the Western Civilization appropriately and completely.Besides, this translation is also used as a bridge to share the moral ethics and wisdom deposited in the long course of Chinese history with the rest of people in the world.
