Study On Time Adverbs In A Dream Of Red Mansions

In this paper, the author regarding the Dream of Red Mansions as the corpus, holds an exhaustive investigation and quantitative analysis of the time adverbs in the work, and seeks to carry out a scientific and comprehensive static description, and draws the outline of the overall appearance of the time adverbs in the work of the Dream of Red Mansions. At the same time, through the inductive analysis, he grasps the historical levels and the structural characteristics, in order to make some contribution to the study of time adverbs in modern Chinese.This article consists of six parts: the first chapter is the introduction. It introduces the reason and significance of the selected topic, the research status of lexical category in the Dream of Red Mansions, the research method, the definition and classification of the time adverbs, which lays the theoretical foundation for the following article.The second chapter is the macrovisual study of time adverbs in the dream of Red mansions. In this part, the author classifies the frequency system of the time adverbs in the dream of Red Mansions. In general, it is divided into four categories: the time, the tense, the frequency and the sequence. According to the statistical results, there are time adverbs of 180 in the Dream of Red Mansion, including the time 73, the tense 59, the frequency 25 and the sequence 23.The third chapter is the microscopic study of the time adverbs in accordance with the principles of classification. It is analyzed and summarized from the aspects of semantics and grammar.The next part is the structure analysis of the time adverbs. This chapter introduces the structure characteristics of the time adverbs in the dream of Red Mansions.The fifth chapter is the historical levels research of the time adverbs. We analyzed the historical levels of time adverbs in the dream of Red Mansions. We discussed its inheritance, innovation and whether it’s kept in modern Chinese.The sixth chapter is the conclusion. It shows a summary of the research on time adverbs in the dream of Red Mansions.
