The study of Adverbs of time has a long history.Many scholars and experts have disputed the collection and exploration of Adverbs of time.In this paper,we take the literature corpus of the Middle Chinese Period as the research object,and based on the examples of large-scale real corpora,we have included a comprehensive collection of Adverbs of time in the Middle Ancient Chinese,and discussed the analysis with quantitative statistics.Firstly,the corpus is segmented,discriminated,and counted.A total of 416 Adverbs of time are counted and classified in detail,including four major categories of time adverbs,time adverbs,time adverbs,frequency adverbs and order adverbs,and the semantic and grammatical features are described.By drawing the table of the titles,frequencies,and proportions of the old /middle-age freshmen,it is found that there are more middle-aged new words in the ancient Chinese time adverb system than in the old times.There are three rules of development and change of time adverb system in Middle Chinese.By drawing a table of monosyllabic / bisyllabic terms,frequencies,and proportions,and finds the following rules: Middle Chinese time adverbs have the absolute advantage of monosyllabic time adverbs;most monosyllabic adverbs are the same word Shape has many different meanings;most of the new adverbs of time in the Middle Ages are disyllables;the way of forming the disyllable words in Middle Chinese has been completed;the form of the disyllable words in Middle Chinese is not stable;the disyllable words of Middle Chinese have Occurrence of low frequency.Lastly,the article explores the grammaticalization of the time adverbs in the Middle Ages,so as to reveal the diachronic changes of time adverbs and mechanisms.
