Research On The Gadamer’s "History Of Effect" Theory

This thesis is developed on the theoretical framework of Gadamer’s "history of effect "theory, which affects the reading theories when applied to the field of literature. As a core part of literary reading activities, the literary text (including the exist of the text,the concept of the text and the interpretation of the meaning of the text) is greatly affected by the "history of effect "theory. Thus, analyzing the concept of the theory and certifying its impact on text interpretation are the main tasks. In this thesis, we are going to illustrate from five aspects:In Chapter One, we reviews the development of the "history of effect" and their their theory.In part one,we certify what the contributes to our insight in to "understanding", particularly in Schleiermacher and Dilthey,and how to handle Gadamer’s criticism.In part two,Gadamer reviews the Heidegger’s understanding as the model of there-being and disentangle the historical of understanding.By means of remodeling historical. facts,combining with the "understanding is a historically effected event",Gadamer generates his theory "the history of effect".Essentially this chapter aims to explain only by means of demonstrating the relationship between the understanding and history can comprehend we the significance of the "history of effect".In Chapter Two,we reveal the characteristic of the effect-history theory. Collectively, the principle of effect-history and "history of effect consciousness", these can be described as "history of effect theory". In part one, we describe the characteristic of the experience structure from three aspects. In part two, we discuss the openness on interrogative logic from two aspects. In part three, we describe the hermeneutic significance of temporal distance and the temporal characteristic of the historically effected consciousness. This chapter is very important to the understanding of "history of effect theory". In the meantime, this theory as the basis of text interpretation, and experience structure, the openness of interrogative and temporal had a huge influence on the existence of text, the interpretation of text and the transformation of text meaning.In Chapter Three, we expound the character of experience structure and temporal openness of history of effect and how they affect the concept and the existence of the text.In part one,by comparing view of traditional text and Gadamer’s text highlights a there-being tendency of text,and we take play as the main line.In part two,we discuss the openness of the text.The part three,we want to be quite clear on how the temporal of history of effect affects the temporal of artistic work.The part four,we discuss the history of effect how to affect the interpretation of literature text.This chapter aims to discuss the history of effect how to affect the interpretation of literature text,essentially on the character of openness and temporal of history of effect.In Chapter Four,because of the history of effect,neither writer nor reader generates the meaning of the text,but the fusion of their horizon. In part one,the meaning from unique horizon to fusion of horizon.In part two,highlight the importance of writer make them specially.In part three, the misinterpretation of acceptance,are based the view on Gadamer’s prejudice theory,and inspired Bloom’s misreading theory.The conclusion of this chapter is that the generation of text meaning from the author intent to readers, is a process. Interpretation as the original structure of the existence of the world, restricted by historical, the meaning of the text is also is in the process of continuous generation.In Chapter Five,we discuss the effect-history on the text interpretation for the value.In part one,with this creative interpreter of contemporary historical situation and Horizon are respected.In part two,hermeneutics circulation provides a way to understanding the reader’s aesthetic experience and the interpretation of the text meaning.The conclusion of this chapter is, in effect under the influence of history, as the main body of text interpretation, readers’creativity by hermeneutics circulation mode, enrich the experience of interpretation, really participate in the construction of text meaning.To sum up, the conclusion of this article is that understanding the concept of history analysis and understanding as a historical event, finally raises the effect of historical theory. The features of "history of effect theory "are openness, timeliness of empirical, problems which affected the text itself, the way of existence in the text, the text meaning, the text get the ontological status.And the characteristics of timeliness, historic, and the meaning of the text from the author give to the reader and text horizon fusion, this text will always produce new meaning because of the question. "History of effect" is also in a more positive sense, the interpreter’s own value for certain, certainly the hermeneutics circulation pattern accumulated the aesthetic experience, nourished and enrich the meaning of the text meaning.
