Children’s emotion understanding ability is the foundation of social development,it has an important impact on their social behavior, interpersonal relationships and so on. The development of emotion understanding is influenced by many factors,In this paper, we select the perspective of the mother’s meta- emotion philosophy which is less concerned by the previous research, to explore the relationship between mother’s met-emotion philosophy, children’s emotion understanding and social behavior. This study selects 3-5 years old children in a kindergarten in Shijiazhuang as the subjects,the number is 74. Based on the theory of theory of mind, to investigate the developmental characteristics of children’s emotion understanding. Using Ye Guanghui’s "parents meta-emotional philosophy scale", and adapted from Deng Ciping’s "parents of children’s social behavior assessment questionnaire", to investigate the mother’s meta-emotional philosophy and children’s social behavior. The results are as follows:(1) There are significant age differences in emotional understanding ability of 3-5 years old children, and increased with age. On the ability of facial expression recognition, 3 years old and 4 years old, 3 years old and 5 years old children have significant difference, and named expression ability significantly below the facial expression recognition; on the belief emotion understanding, 3 years old and 5 years old, 4 years old and 5 years old children have significant difference; on the mixed emotion understanding, 3 years old and 5 years old, 4 years old and 5 years old children have significant difference.(2) There are significant gender differences in emotional comprehension ability of 3-5 years old children, the girl is significantly higher than boys. Girls’ facial expression recognition ability is significantly higher than boys’; 3 years old boy’s belief emotion understanding ability is higher than 3 years old girl.(3) Children’s emotional understanding ability can significantly positively predict their prosocial behavior, negatively predicted their shy-withdrawal behavior.(4) Mother’s emotion coaching philosophy can significantly positively predictchildren’s emotional understanding.(5) Mother’s emotion-coaching philosophy can significantly positively predict children’s prosocial behavior;Mother’s emotion noninvolvement philosophy and emotion dysfunction philosophy can significantly positively predict children’s aggressive behavior.(6) Children’s emotion understanding plays an intermediary role between the mother’s emotion-coaching philosophy the children’s prosocial behavior. |
