Problem behavior is often seen in the group of adolescent,mainly in anxiety,depression,withdrawal,attack,discipline and so forth.Study found that the concept of parental meta emotion philosophy,that is,the cognition and attitude of parents to the children’s emotional reaction can affect the child’s emotional and behavioral regulation.At the same time,the influence of parents on their children will be different because of their own physiological factors.Therefore,this study attempts to explore the relationship between the concept of parental meta emotion philosophy and adolescent’s problem behavior,and to investigate the influence of adolescent’s vagus nerve function on the relationship between them two.A total of 12 to 14 year old adolescents in a middle school in Yinchuan and their parents were selected as the subjects of the study."The Youth Self-Report Scale" made in 1987 by Achenbach is used to measure the behavior problem of teenager,"Parental Meta emotion Philosophy Scale" made by Ye Guanghui is used to measure the father and mother’s meta emotion philosophy."Mental arithmetic task" is performed to collect the adolesenct’s respiratory and heart rate data in the resting and mission period,baseline vagal tone and vagal suppression is obtained through transformation.Conclusions can be made as follows:(1)Education level can affect the parents’ meta emotion philosophy.The emotion dismissing philosophy of mother had significant differences on the education variables,mother below junior high school scores higher on emotion dismissing than mother have the other two types of education level;The emotion coaching philosophy of father had significant differences on the education variables,father above college scores higher on emotion coaching than father have the other two types of education level(2)There are significant gender differences in adolescent’s problem behavior.The externalizing behavior of boys is significantly higher than that of girls,the internalizing behavior of girls is significantly higher than that of boys.(3)The mother emotion coaching negatively predict adolescent’s internalizing and externalizing behavior,mother emotion dysfunction positively predict adolescent’s internalizing and externalizing behavior,mother emotion noninvolvement positively predict adolescent’s externalizing behavior;father emotion coaching negatively predict adolescent’s internalizing behavior,father emotion dysfunction positively predict adolescent’s externalizing behavior.(4)Baseline vagal tone moderate the relationship between mother emotion noninvolvement and adolescent’s externalizing behavior,when teenager’s vagal tone is low,mother emotion noninvolvement positively predict adolescent’s externalizing behavior,when teenager’s vagal tone is high,mother emotion noninvolvement were not predictors of adolescent’s externalizing behavior;Vagal suppression moderate the relationship between mother emotional dysfunction and adolescent’s internalizing and externalizing behavior,when teenager’s vagal suppression is low,mother emotion dysfunction positively predicted adolescent’s internalizing and externalizing behaviors,when teenager’s vagal suppression is high,mother emotion dysfunction were not predictors of adolescent’s internalizing and externalizing problem;vagal suppression moderate the relationship between father emotion dysfunction and adolescent’s externalizing behavior,when teenager’s vagal suppression is low,father emotion dysfunction positively predict adolescent’s externalizing behavior,when teenagers vagal suppression is high,father emotion dysfunction were not predictors of adolescent’s externalizing problems.
