Working memory is a temporary storage and processing of information of limited capacity memory system,which plays an important role in many complex cognitive activities.In recent years, many studies are concerned about the working memory of poor students and found the poor student has the remarkable difference compared with learning eugenics working memory.The difference is mainly caused by the central executive system of working memory.Compared the updating of good and poor readers found that significant difference,which is one of the function of central executive.And the prediction of working memory capacity and intelligence point to the updating function of the central executive system specifically. Ecker etal. made a further definition to the ingredients of the process of updating in 2010,updating contains three child elements: retrieval(retrieval), conversion(transformation),alternative(substitution).This study to investigate The working memory updating mechanism difference between top learners and poor students.Experiment 1 adopts digital refresh paradigm, investigating eugenics and poor students in updating two child elements transformation and substitution, and compares the differences of overall updating effect.Found that top students in alternative speed significantly better than the poor student in substitution speed, and the whole refresh accuracy of learning eugenics is significantly higher than the poor students.Experiment 2 changes the material Similarity,to inspect whether the interference caused by material similarity also have effect on updating effect of learn eugenics and poor students.and further discusses its influence degree on the updating mechanism.It was found that increasing material similarity either for eugenics or poor students,accuracy is greatly reduced.On the updating mechanism, the speed of transformation and substitution also significantly lower.Through the contrast of experiment 1 and experiment 2 found that the difference between top students and poor learners has a change,which caused by the similarity of the material,the material is more similarity,the effect of two kinds ofstudents is poorer.Above results indicate that poor students and learning eugenics exist differences in the updating mechanism, and this difference is affected by the interference caused by material similarity.Material is more similar, updating effect is poorer, embodied in slower to updating and lower accuracy.
