Currently,scholars generally agree that situational judgment test can measure competencies of personality traits,self-concept and motivation better. Situational judgment test also are treated as an effective tool to measure competencies.However,there is not any researches use situational judgment test to measure the competencies of psychology postgraduate.So this research works out the situational judgment test on psychology postgraduate competencies based on previous theoretical framework.Firstly,determine competency factors of psychology postgraduate( independence and initiative, persistence, conscientiousnes, critical facility, involvement, research and experimentation, communication) through the analysis on the study tasks of psychology postgraduate and previous research.Secondly, Used interview,focus group discussion and questionnaire to work out ‘ situational judgment test of psychology postgraduate competencies ’ based on competency factors about psychology postgraduate.Investigated 186 psychology postgraduates about the ‘ situational judgment test of psychology postgraduate competencies’.The result show that the distinctions of all test projects have reached an acceptable level;Cronbach alpha arrived at 0.889.each subtests’ Cronbach alpha is above 0.7.Through the confirmatory factor analysis, get a better fit index.It shows that the situational judgment test have a good coefficient of internal consistency and construct validity. Investigated 247 psychology postgraduates about the ‘situational judgment test of psychology postgraduate competencies ’ and ‘Personal Potential Index’,The result show that the correlation coefficient between ‘the situational judgment test”and “Personal Potential Index’ is 0.725, It shows that the situational judgment test have a good congruent validity.Besides,analyzed the competency features on demography variables of psychology postgraduates.The results show that the female was significantly greater than the male in ‘ Independence and Initiative ’ and ‘ Research and Experimentation ’;the second and third year psychology postgraduates were significantly greater than the the first year psychology postgraduates in ‘Communication’ and ‘Research and Experimentation’;the psychology postgraduates of ‘211 Project’ universities was significantly greater than the ‘985 Project’ universities and other universities in ‘Communication’,‘Research and Experimentation’ and ‘Conscientious’.Based on the result above, The ‘situational judgment test of psychology postgraduates competencies’ in this study can reflect the meaning and structure of the competencies of psychology postgraduates,and can be used in practice.
