As a kind of common but ignored psychological problem,social anxiety not only affects our interpersonal communication,but also affects our life,study,work and so on.Its formation is in addition to affected by external factors such as family education and social support,much more importantly affected by internal factors for instance individual characteristics.As an important factor of individual characteristics,self-esteem has great influence on social anxiety.Self-acceptance based on self-assessment is the most important part of the form of self-esteem,even the core characteristic.A sample of 1050 students in key institution,general university and college completed the Chinese version of Rosenberg self-esteem Scale,Self-acceptance Questionnaire and Social Avoidance and Scale,which was used to explore the relationship among self-acceptance,self-esteem and social anxiety, and investigate the role of self-esteem between the others. The results of the study were as follows:First,self-acceptance, self-esteem and social anxiety in college students of different gender all did not existsignificant differences.Second,there was no significant difference on selfacceptance and self-esteem in students of different types;social anxiety was opposite.Third,self-acceptance,self-esteem and social anxiety among the two were related: self-acceptance and social anxiety had significantly negative correlation,so did self-esteem and social anxiety; self-acceptance and self-esteem were significantly positively correlated.And their dimensions were the same.Fourth,self-acceptance with its dimensions and selfesteem could be significantly negative predictors of social anxiety with its dimensions.Fifth,self-esteem played a partial mediating role between self-acceptance and social anxiety.
