Effect Of Adult Attachment On Undergraduates' Social Anxiety:Moderated Mediating Effect

472 undergraduates(From freshman to graduate students)in Tianjin were investigated by questionnaire survey method.This paper explores the relationship between social anxiety and adult attachment,self-compassion and life events in college students.Results:(1)Undergraduates' social anxiety exist significant differences in grade(F=3.46,p<0.01)and in the degree of satisaction of learning(F=3.35,p<0.05)and in whether the students serving as cadres(F=-2.03,p<0.05).While adults attachment and self-compassion are all significantly predictive of social anxiety,self-compassion plays a mediating role between adults attachment and social anxiety partially,self-compassion plays a mediating role between attachment anxiety and social anxiety partially(ab/c=0.27),self compassion plays a mediating role between attachment avoidance and socialanxiety partially(ab/c=0.20),and the mediatingrole is moderated by life events(R=0.57,p<0.001).The second half of the mediating role of self-compassion between adults attachment and social anxiety were moderated by life events(p=0.14,p<0.01).By analysis and discussion,this study drew the following conclusions:(1)Except for freshmen,with the increase of grade,the level of social anxiety is decreasing gradually.(2)The students with higher learning satisfaction had the lowest social anxiety.(3)students serving as cadres have lower levels of social anxiety than students without cadres.(4)Adult attachment was related with self-compassion.The higher the attachment anxiety is,the lower the self-compassion is;The higher the attachment avoidance is,the lower the self-compassion is.(5)Adult attachment was related with social anxiety.The higher the attachment anxiety is,the higher the social anxiety is;The higher the attachment avoidance is,the lower the social anxiety is.(6)Self-compassion was related with social anxiety.The higher the level of self-compassion is,the lower the social anxiety is;The lower the level of self-compassion is,the higher the social anxiety is.(7)Adult attachment affected social anxiety through self-compassion in college student.And the relationshiip were affected by life events.When the influence of life events was small,Self-compassion could predict social anxiety negatively.The negative predictive effect of self-compassion on social anxiety was not significant when the influence of life events was great.
