This essay is a translation practice report. The first five parts of Education Voucher System are selected as the content of the report. The report is based on the translation practice, and it mainly describes the process and analysis of this translation practice, and how the translator uses appropriate translation strategies to solve the specific difficulties encountered in the translation process. In the translation, it is found that the original text is in a formal style. It has a strong professional background involving lots of English proper nouns, including organization names or people’s names. There are a lot of long sentences and passive sentences in the source text. Under the guidance of Peter Newmark’s text translation theory and translation theories like the semantic translation theory and the communicative translation theory, some corresponding translation strategies and methods are put forward in terms of vocabulary and sentence structures. As for vocabulary translation in the text, many translation strategies are used:free translation, addition, subtraction and conversion, etc. As for the sentence translation, methods like restructuring the form of sentences, restructuring the voice of sentences, and restructuring the word order of sentences are applied to solve difficulties encountered in the process oftranslation. The practice proves that translating an informative text will be with more fluency if it is done under the rules of communicative translation.
