A Report On The C-E Translation Of Principle And Maintenance Of Electric Vehicle Charging System (Excerpts)

With the popularity of electric vehicles,electric vehicle charging stations will surely become the focus of the development of automobile industry and energy industry.Electric vehicle charging stations need regular maintenance and necessary management to achieve fast charging,and meet electric vehicle users’ needs for charging as well as achieve good results of energy saving and emission reduction.Therefore,the author choose this text as translation material has certain application value and great significance for promoting the development of regions without proper planning of electric vehicle charging stations.Based on this,the author choose the fifth chapter maintenance and operation of electric vehicle charging stations of Principles and Maintenance of Electric Vehicle Charging System as the translation task material.The original material of this translation practice task is scientific and technological texts,which are characterized by specialized and accurate words,objectivity,professionalism,standardized writing,and the author encountered certain difficulties in the translation process.The semantic translation and communicative translation of Newmark’s translation theory attach importance to faithfulness and fluency respectively,which coincide with the requirements of scientific and technological texts.Therefore,the author uses semantic translation and communicative translation to deal with the problems encountered in the translation process.In this paper,the author will use semantic translation and communicative translation,and from three perspectives of lexis,syntax and text as well as through various translation methods,such as omission translation,part-of-speech conversion,sequential translation,literal translation and structural reorganization,to analyze the translation material,so as to research the application of semantic translation strategies and communicative translation strategies in the translation of scientific and technological texts.As the author did some case studies,it is found that Newmark’s translation theory can be used to guide the translation of technical texts of electric vehicle charging stations,so that the translated text conforms to the expression habits of the original text,thereby improving the acceptance of the target language reader.At the same time,it can further expand the scope of application of this theory,and the author hopes to provide reference for the translation of related texts.
