As one of the classical western instruments, piano has been introduced to Chi na no more than a century.However, along with the fast pace of economic development,the piano is getting more and more popular in China, and the country has seen the emer gence of great pianists and piano composers.In particular, a lot of Chinese pianists and composers are devoted in piano music w ith great nationalization, who have created a lot of remarkable piano works with Chines e characteristics by combining the Chinese folk music elements with Western compositi on techniques.Jian-er Zhu and Peixun Chen are representatives of these Chinese Piano Musicians,and both composers invariably have chosen "water" as the cultural elements in their m usic works <Overture Ⅱ "water" > and <tone poem Ⅱ "water" >, respectively.In this thesis, the musical structure, modal tonality, harmony and technique charact eristics of these two piano works are analyzed and compared.In an order to better express the composers’ intention and feelings, the mood and melody, singing tripartite rhythm and speed, touch keys and pedals playing techniques are discussed for these two works. |
