This paper has deeply explored and studied the creation characteristics of PeixunChen in the filed of orchestral music from the viewpoint of orchestral music’scomposition analysis, through the study of three pieces of orchestral music by PeixunChen, including symphonic poem Xin Chao Zhu Lang Gao, Symphony No.1MyMotherland and Symphony No.2Qing Ming Ji.There are two chapters in this paper, and the chapter one is the key point whichanalyzed these three pieces of works mainly from the viewpoint of orchestration.Chapter one detailedly expounded orchestration for band, applying features of eachmusical instrument group, timbre and texture, and then summarized the orchestrationfeatures of Peixun Chen. Chapter two mainly worked on the analysis of the threepieces of works’ creation techniques, including musical theme features, harmonicfeatures, polyphony and musical structure, so that the overall structure of the threepieces of orchestral music can be clearly understandable by the readers. In theappendix, the details of Peixun Chen’s life were introduced and his works listed.Through the study of the three works, we achieve further inspiration and improvement from the author’s composition and orchestration, but above all, the creative orchestral writing style and new techniques in his creation provide a broader creative thinking in the orchestral works for us.
