The Comparative Study Of Mining Techniques Of Ancient Copper Sites Which Are Located In The Boundaries Between E And Gan And Liaoxi Region In The Shang And Zhou Dynasties

It has been widely concerned about the source of the bronze’s raw material in pre-qin period by the archaeologists all this time.With a serious of ancient copper mine sites have been found and excavated,this problem will be solved.On the basis of previous studies,this research chooses 4 ancient copper mine sites which are located in the boundaries between E and Gan(鄂赣交界)and Liaoxi(辽西)region from the last Shang dynasty to the early and middle Western Zhou dynasty and comprehensively compares mining techniques of the copper sites between the South and the North in exploring techniques、extracting techniques、the tools、the related supporting facilities and the beneficiating techniques and tries to explain.This dissertation is divided into five chapters.The first chapter mainly explains the causes of the selection of this subject and defines the objects of this research. It provides a complete and synthetic review of the previous archaeological discoveries and research.The second chapter introduces the archaeological cultures which every ancient copper mine site belongs to and judges their times.The third chapter focus on the comparison of the mining techniques of the copper sites which are located between the boundaries between E and Gan(鄂赣交界)and Liaoxi(辽西)region in exploring techniques、extracting techniques、the tools、the related supporting facilities and the beneficiating techniques in the last Shang Dynasty and the early and middle Western Zhou Dynasty.The forth chapter tries to explain the causes of the differences in extracting techniques between the South and the North regions by natural environment 、geological conditions、the qualities of the copper and the modes of production organizations. Besides, we also notices the influences between the archaeological cultures in one region.The last chapter is the conclusion of this work, providing a synthesis of the research result.
